Prayer & Pledge
Merciful Father, we praise and adore you together with Jesus Christ, the innocent prisoner and prisoners all over the world. We thank and glorify you for sending your only begotten son, Jesus Christ who proclaimed liberty to captives and taught us to visit prisons. He was unjustly imprisoned and died on the cross as a convict for the remission of our sins. On the cross he assured heaven to the good thief. We thank and praise you for the innumerable blessings we receive through our ministry for the brethren behind bars. Since 1985 you have been guiding Jesus Fraternity and prison Ministry India, through your representatives such as Bishops, priests, religious and lay leaders. Bless the Holy Father, Benedict XVI, all our Bishops especially our chairman Most Rev. Peter Remigius, our founding Fathers, Fr. Varghese Karipery and Fr. Francis Kodiyan , our National , Regional, State, Seminary and local leader and volunteers so that they may be able to continue your mission for the lost in the Jubilee Year with an added enthusiasm. We ask your forgiveness for our failure, sins, omission and drawbacks in this ministry.
Merciful God, give us the grace to see your face in our brothers and sisters behind bars, and help us to remember them as though we were in prison with them. Beloved Father we entrust into your compassionate hands our imprisoned brethren worldwide. We offer their sufferings together with the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus for their reformation and rehabilitation. Illumine and strengthen their hearts to accept the present traumatic situation and transform it for your greater glory. We rise up to you their family members and friends, bless them with your hope, peace, love and joy. Fill with your Holy Spirit all those volunteers who dedicate their lives for the renewal and rehabilitation of prisoners. Bless the prison staffs, who serve them, and the victims who unnecessarily suffer.
We pledge that we will commit ourselves in the Jubilee Year of Jesus Fraternity and Prison Ministry India with much enthusiasm for the reformation, rehabilitation and reclamation of prisoners and their family members. We pledge that we will consider prisoners as our own brothers and sisters. We assure that we will visit prisons, pray and fast for their reformation and rehabilitation.
Mary Mother of our brethren behind bars, pray for the renewal of our jailed brethren and for the reformation of ourselves. All powerful God, we thank you for hearing our prayers. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
